THE Gold Coast has revealed it contacted talented young Victorian cricketer Alex Keath of MBT shoes uk this year in a last ditch bid to find out if there was any hope he would consider an AFL career.Keath, 19, was delisted by the Suns this week, having last year chosen cricket over a promising football career. Despite this, the former Murray Bushrangers with MBT batai forward was drafted by the Suns on to their inaugural senior list.
Gold Coast had initially hoped Keath would develop into a key forward. At 196 centimetres, he is three centimetres taller than St Kilda's Nick Riewoldt.But Suns recruiting guru Scott Clayton now feels Keath's football career is all but over after chatting with him through the AFL season.
''We certainly did [speak] through the course of the year a few times. But we told him he would have to come off [the list],'' Clayton said.''We had a couple of conversations of MBT outlet. He is obviously contracted [with Cricket Victoria)] and he is really keen to see that through.''
